My, oh my . . . Where does the time go?
With so many things on your plate as a small business owner, it’s no wonder that some things slide off at times. When juggling sales, marketing, daily operations, service or product delivery, inventory, personnel, and what feels like a jillion other priorities . . . what slides off is often the bookkeeping! Whether you, the business owner, are supposed to be doing it, or you just haven’t had time to find a new bookkeeper to replace the one who retired or moved away, at some point (usually tax time), your books need to be Caught-Up.
Some people confuse Clean-Up and Catch-Up and think they are the same thing, but they’re not. A Clean-Up is needed if your books are current, but there are mistakes in them. A Catch-Up is needed if your books have been done correctly (as far as they were done) but they’re not current – no one has been doing them, so they need to be caught up.
A Catch-Up is often simpler to do than a Clean-Up. However, often times when doing a Catch-Up, we find that things were not done correctly in the past, and a Catch-Up can turn into a Clean-Up. Either way, Bespoke Bookkeeping can get your books in shape to help you make good business decisions and be ready for tax preparation time.
Have 30 minutes? That’s the only thing it will cost you to schedule a date and time to chat with us at Bespoke Bookkeeping about getting your books all caught up.
